THE ROLE

Venture Debt Investment Associate/Analyst

Genesis Alternative Ventures is Southeast Asia 1st Private Venture Debt fund. We invest debt capital into the region’s finest venture-backed startups. Our investment team is looking for an Associate/Analyst who will work closely with the Investment Head and Principal to manage and expand our portfolio investments. Be amongst the rare few who is able to spot and invest in the next Grab or Razer. We are seeking an individual who is motivated and curious about tech and innovation, and wants to grow with Genesis. This individual is someone who has good verbal and written communications skills and is not afraid of a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling multiple projects at any given time.

Some of the responsibilities include conducting financial analysis, business diligence and market assessment for new investments and existing portfolio companies. Be involved in the following and gain valuable experience as a venture capital professional:

> Assist in managing existing portfolio, ensuring compliance with reporting, financial performance, and tracking important development milestones.

> Help to maintain the internal deal database to ensure accurate and timely contact/company information

> Evaluate venture debt proposals by meeting with passionate entrepreneurs who want to raise debt financing as they scale their startup business throughout the region or globally. Conduct due diligence on the proposals and be able to structure a term sheet

> Provide analytical support as part of the investment team, which includes: assimilating diligence items, ensuring accuracy and validity of data, evaluating financial performance and running financial models.

> Create reports (memos and financial models) analyzing the findings to present and discuss within the investment team. Do final presentation to the Investment Committee.

> Manage a portfolio of startup companies to monitor the business and financial health

REQUIREMENTS

> An experienced individual with 2-5 year corporate finance/M&A background who wants to work in a venture capital fund specializing in venture debt.

> This person would ideally be proficient in excel financial modeling, writes well and can take an investment deal from cradle to exit.

> Willing to learn, enjoys start-up culture and wants to be part of a fun, ambitious team that thrives in an entrepreneurial tech environment

> Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Willing to invest time to turn around an urgent piece of work

> Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (good Excel and/or PowerPoint skills is a major plus)
